Hybrid jazz — Nantes, France — since 2021Debut EP — early 2027

Instrumental quartet. Where the roundness of jazz meets the energy of rock and saturated sounds.

Composition and improvisation, between Aaron Parks' writing, MYT's textures and Louis Matute's grooves.

01 — The band

A square that bends

UNSQWARE is an instrumental quartet from Nantes, France, formed in late 2021, with a modern and progressive take on jazz.

Founded by Florian Roy (bass, double bass) and Charles Demay (drums), the band was joined by Fabien Maurin (guitar, trained at CIM in Paris) to strengthen its melodic voice, then by Victor Pavel (piano, keys). Drawing on long musical experience, the four create spellbinding atmospheres where composition and improvisation intertwine.

First gig in late 2022 in Nantes, then the Conservatoire, Festival d'été ACCOORD, Bar-Bars and the Printemps de Bourges OFF. In 2025, the Totem Live Session turned the band's name into images: a square, or a cube, bending out of shape.
